right of way, and also permission to obtain an appraisal on the Godboldt property on North <br />Gifford Road for which he has been unable to obtain right of way. The Board upon Motion made <br />byhCommissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and carried, authorized the <br />County Engineer to obtain these appraisals from Mr. Jewett. <br />p <br />The County Engineer told the Board he would like to put in a soil cement road on <br />North Gifford road. He stated that he had not thought of starting this road for a couple of <br />months but if he started right away he would be able to borrow the Mackle Company equipment <br />for a nominal amount which would save the County about $6,000.00. He further asked the County <br />Attorney if it would be alright for the Mackle Company to take pictures to be used for <br />publicity purposes and the County Attorney said he could see no objection at all. After some <br />further discussion, the Board authorized the County Engineer to proceed at once with this work ,S <br />on North Gifford Road. <br />There being no further business, upon Motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />then adjourned. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 1959 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met at the Courthouse, <br />Vero Beach, Florida in a regular meeting held at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Tuesday, February 3, 1959. <br />I, All members were pres ent. Also present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, Sherman N. Smith, <br />Jr., Attorney and Katherine Morrison, Deputy Clerk. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and <br />carried, the minutes of regular meeting of January 6th and regular meeting of January 20th were'j,k <br />approved. <br />County Judge Miles B. Mank appeared before the Board and said he would like to have <br />his documents, especially Probate papers photostated for accuracy sake and would save time too.,, <br />Also that he would like to convert to the flat filing system which would save sapce. Therefore;, <br />he requested permission to buy a filing cabinet and authorization to put in the official record <br />f,! system. He Further stated he would like to buy for the County's Judge's office, Florida <br />Sta tutes Annotated and Redfern on probate. Upon motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, se- <br />conded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, toe Board authorized the purchase of <br />d <br />I the filing cabinet, the books and putting in of the official record system but told the Judge <br />d he should work out the details for the photostating with Mr. Baker, Clerk of the Circuit <br />1 <br />40 <br />1 <br />41 <br />
