Monkman appeared before the Board and asked what our views were on the <br />joining of the North end of the Island to Indian River County, and the Board stated they were <br />going to attend the meeting to find out what it was all about, but at this time thay had Bio <br />definite plans or ideas. <br />Sam Bradley appeared before the Board with respect to putting a parking lot over in <br />Langwick Subdivision. The Commissioners stated they were opposed to spending the money it <br />would cost to clear and fix the land for a parking lot when it would only benefit a few and <br />not a majority of the citizens of the County. The Board further noted that they thought this <br />land had been dedicated by the County to the City for public purposes and asked the Attorney <br />to check into this matter and let Mr. Bradley know. <br />A letter was received from the State Road Department to the effect that they do not <br />have a signed contract for furnishing the right of way for Emerson Avenue and enclosed a� <br />contract and resolution to be passed by the Board. Upon Motion made by Commissioner Gifford, <br />seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted,: <br />RESOLUTION -- Right of Way for Emerson Avenue <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida has authorized and requested INDIAN III <br />RIVER County to furnish the necessary rights of way and easements for that portion of Section <br />8857, State Road No. S-607, extending from St. Lucie County Line Northerly to State Road 60 !� <br />at Vero Beach, which has been surveyed and located by the State Road Department as shown by <br />map on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County, and in the office c <br />of the said Department at Tallahassee, and <br />WHEREAS, the said Department will not begin construction of said portion of said <br />Section in said County until title to all land necessary for said portion of said Section has <br />been conveyed to or vested in said State by said County, and said lands physically cleared of <br />all occupants, tenants, fences, buildings and/or other structures situate upon or encroaching <br />within the limits of the land required for said portion of said Section; now, therefore, be it <br />RESOLVED, that said County, through its Board of County Commissioners, comply.with <br />the request of said Department and procure, convey or vest in said State the free, clear and <br />unencumbered title to all lands necessary for said portion of said Section, and deliver to <br />the State Road Department said lands physically clear of all occupants, tenants, fences, <br />buildings and/or other structures situate upon or encroaching within the limits of the landsald dl <br />required for said portion of said Section, and that the Chairman and the Clerk of this Board be�� <br />and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver, on behalf of said County <br />to said Department, the contract in the form hereto attached; and be it further <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />
