Dasie Bridgewater Hope Center, Inc. — Dasie Hope Tutorial Program — Children's Advisory <br /> Committee/Indian River County <br /> Study Skills : After School tutoring is designed for at-risk students whose lack of study <br /> and comprehension skills may hamper their academic achievement <br /> Academic Subjects : Computer training is designed to teach basic computer skills <br /> Tutoring: Students will participate in one-on-one literacy training sessions <br /> Community Based: Youth are encouraged to participate in community activities to help them <br /> 4. Ms. Wright worked <br /> for the Indian River County School District for 19 years and served as a Program Director and <br /> Coordinator at the Gifford Youth Activity Center. <br /> Director 40 hours weekly <br /> Asst. Director/Program Coordinator 40 hours weekly <br /> Receptionist/Office Manager 40 hours weekly <br /> Class Teachers (4) 40 hours weekly <br /> Part-time Cook 20 hours weekly <br /> 8 Volunteers are utilized to provide all program services in the areas of. recreation (basketball, <br /> tennis), computer lab, Dasie Bakers, Girls Club and academic tutoring. <br /> 5. How will the target population be made aware of the program? <br /> The target population is made aware of program services via newsletters, church announcements, <br /> flyers posted in schools & in community, parent support group presentations, civic/club league <br /> presentations, radio, TV, door-to-door recruitment and referrals. Dasie Hope Center' s most <br /> valuable resource has been word-of -mouth. <br /> 6. How will the program be accessible to target population (i.e., location, transportation, <br /> hours of operation)? <br /> The Center is centrally located, 8445-64`h Ave., Wabasso, FL 32970 and within walking distance <br /> of many residents and youth of the targeted population. The Center hours are 9 : 30 a.m. — 6:30 <br /> p.m. Monday — Thursday. <br /> 6 <br />
