Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County-JUMP Into Reading-CSAC of Indian River County <br /> G. TIMETABLE (Section G not to exceed one page) <br /> 1 . List the major action steps, activities, or cycles of events that will occur within the <br /> program year. New programs should include any start-up planning that may occur <br /> outside the funding year. In completing the timetable, review information detailed in <br /> prior sections. <br /> Month/Period Activities <br /> I " Week Inquiry calls are received from Volunteers and Parents. Orientation is <br /> scheduled. <br /> 2nd Week Orientation occurs. Volunteers fill out application and complete <br /> background screening. Simultaneously, the school and BGC select <br /> students who need the service and send home application/release forms <br /> to be signed and returned by parents. <br /> Weeks 3 — 5 Reference and background screening results are returned. Volunteers <br /> receive a volunteer interview. Preferences and schedules are <br /> determined. Simultaneously, the Parent applications/release forms are <br /> returned and the clients receive a child interview at the school or BGC <br /> as well as pre-testing. Assessments are completed, baseline data is <br /> recorded and decisions about potential matches are made . <br /> Week 5 Mentor and Reading Trainings are given. Case Manager completes a <br /> case plan with input from all parties. <br /> Week 6 The Mentor is invited to the school or BGC . The Case Manager <br /> reviews school/site rules and introduces the mentor to the child and <br /> his/her teacher. The Case Manager shows both parties the materials <br /> and location they will meet. Case Manager reviews the goals in the case <br /> plan . The Case Manager spends the first thirty-minute session together <br /> with both match parties. <br /> Week 8 Within the Is` two weeks of the match, the Case Manager contacts the <br /> mentor, child and teacher for the purposes of supervision and support. <br /> Thereafter, supervision is once per month if by telephone and a <br /> minimum of by-monthly if in person. <br /> Quarterly Assessment of grades and FGAR is completed. <br /> April Volunteer Appreciation Event is held. <br /> May Post-testing is done. Data is recorded and compared with baseline <br /> information. <br /> On-going Monthly "Brown Bag Lunches" to provide mentor support. 9 month <br /> follow-up is done with clients who have been terminated to determine <br /> long-range benefits of service <br /> 14 <br />
