• <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />J <br />1 <br />0 <br />The County Engineer told the Board he had received word from Mr. Frazier that he will <br />take $15,000.00 for the ten acres the Board was trying to get for a marl pita The Board decide <br />this was too much. The Engineer stated he had been talking to Jeff Waters, local road <br />contractor and Mr. Waters would sell a five acre tract of land to the Board for $1200.00 an <br />and that he would take off the over -burden and clear the land. Upon Motion made by Commiss <br />Macdonald, seconded by G=issioner McCullers and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to <br />buy this tract from Mr. Waters, and further directs the chairman and clerk to execute such <br />agreement for the County. <br />Mrs. Rosemary Richey appeared before the Board and requested she be allowed to attend <br />a Supervisor's of Registration meeting in Tampa on August 13,14 and 15. Upon Motion made by <br />Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and carried, the Board authorized <br />Mrs. Richey's attending this meeting. <br />At this point, the (bunty Engineer stated he had tabulated all the bids and submitted <br />the following as the low bidders: <br />Item #1'1- John Cashion <br />Item #2a4 Swords and Sons Asphalt Co. <br />Item #2b'- Swords and Sons Asphalt Co. <br />p :::.Ifdm #3`j- Eppinger & Russell Co. <br />Item #41- Naranja Rock Co. <br />Item #51- Naranja Rock Co. <br />Item #6`6 Oolite Concrete Co. <br />Item #T�- Recommended Shell Oil Co. for RC -1 and AC -15 and <br />Central Oil Co. for CBAE and RS -2 <br />Item #8A- King's Ideal and Hackney & Warren- bids were the same and recommended <br />splitting the business between the two firsm <br />Item #91- Crosby Builders Supply Co. and Vulcan Materials prices were the same <br />and recommended buying from the local firm of Crosby Builders. <br />Item #101- Swords & Sons Asphalt Co. <br />Item #11,�- TriiState Culvert <br />Item #12-)- Florida Steel Products <br />Item #13 - Stated Gulf Oil Co. had submitted a higher discount on gasoline and <br />Orange State Oil Co. on Diesel fuel but figuring it all out Orange State's <br />bid would be the overall lowest bid, therefore recommended the Commissioners <br />take the bid of Orange State Oil Co. <br />Item #14 Russell and Rinker had identical bids and recommended;; the Board split the <br />business. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and carried, <br />the Board approved all the low bids and the recommendations of the (bunty Engineer. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and <br />carried, Ordered Audit Report No. 4975, filed as a part of the public records of the Board, <br />pursuant to Section 21.121 (3), Florida Statutes, same being an audit of the accounts and re <br />of the Board of County Commissioners for the fiscal years ended September 30, 1955, September <br />30, 1956, September 30, 1957, and September 30, 1958. <br />Upon Motion made by (bmmissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissinner McCullers and <br />carried, the following Resolutions7_were.'adopted: <br />RESOLUTION -- Item -to Item Transfers <br />WHEREAS, there is a total surplus of $745.00 in the Fine & Forfeiture Fund of <br />Indian River County.under some items and which surplus exists after the payment of all necess <br />expenditures under such items for the current fiscal year; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a deficiency in funds necessary to provide for the proper and <br />authorized expenditures under some items in the Fine & Forfeiture Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, said items mentioned are a part of the same fund and the transfer from one <br />item to another item in the same fund and is not a transfer from one fund to another fund; <br />
