RESOLUTION NO* 2004 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br /> COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br /> TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY <br /> AFFAIRS FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2004, <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County is experiencing a seasonal high unemployment rate; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of County Commissioners to improve the County' s <br /> employment and economic conditions ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application is <br /> consistent with the Indian River County Comprehensive Plan ; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 9t', 2004, the Board of County Commissioners in an advertised <br /> public hearing initiated the process of applying for CDBG Economic Development funds . <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTYCOMMISSIONERS THAT , <br /> SECTION 1 . The CDBG-ED program is a workable program for improving the County' s <br /> economic conditions and for creating jobs for low and moderate income persons as indicated in the <br /> proposed 2004 CDBG-ED grant application. <br /> SECTION 2 . The Board of County Commissioners hereby directs the County Clerk to <br /> execute all necessary certifications for the Community Development Block Grant application(s) . <br /> SECTION 3 . The Board of County Commissioners directs the Community Development <br /> Director to execute and submit the attached application to the Florida Department of Community <br /> Affairs for State approval . <br /> SECTION 4. The Board of County Commissioners authorizes and directs the Community <br />
