The foregoing Notice was read and there being no bids received it <br />was ordered that the bidding be held open until the next meeting. <br />The Chairman told the Board that some plumbing needed to be done <br />on the Porhorsky house and the roof needed fixing. The Board requested <br />the County Engineer have the road crew repair the roof and that he get <br />an estimate of the cost of the plumbing work that needed to be done and <br />report back to the Board. <br />A letter was received from some residents of Tropicolony Subdivision <br />requesting the County maintain the park in that Subdivision. A letter was <br />also received from Mr. Roschach developer of Tropicolony stating he could <br />no longer maintain the park and requesting the County deed the lots back <br />to him. After some discussion in the matter the Eoard requested the Deputy <br />Clerk contact Mr. Ross H. Long, one of .the interested residents of Tropi- <br />colony and ask if they would maintain the park area and if not then the <br />County would consider turning the area back to Tropicolony, Inc. <br />Dave Robinson, Architact,.presented the preliminary plans for the <br />construction of an, addition to the Courthouse. After some discussion the <br />} Board requested the County Engineer check with all parties concerned and <br />get their ideas,etc. and then the Board would hold a special meeting with <br />respect to any chapges, etc. <br />Mr. Robinson then asked the Board if they would want to retain him <br />to supervise the construction, etc. explaining that his fee would be <br />41/2% of the cost for construction and 12/ for supervision. After some <br />discussion in the matter, Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded <br />by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried that the Chairman be <br />authorized to enter into an agreement with the architect for complete <br />supervision including furnishing at the fee of 41% for construction and <br />17 for supervision. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Worker gave a report of her <br />activities for the month of August and said report was ordered filed. <br />The Attorney for the Board, Sherman N. Smith, Jr. gave a report on <br />the matter of the State regulating the control of groins and jetties in <br />the ocean. <br />
