traffic customarily thereon during the winter season, to permit safe <br />crossing at least for a period of time of one year, realizing that <br />extensive repairing and reconstruction is not desirable in view of <br />the proposed new construction but that said bridge must be kept <br />in safe condition for its anticipated traffic particularly in view <br />of the fact that beginning in thirty to sixty days heavy traffic <br />transporting citrus fruits ordinarily use that bridge from that <br />time until approximately May lst. <br />Rev, Owen of the Wabasso Civic Club gave a financial report on the <br />part of the Civic Club from the time he had taken over as Treasurer in <br />November of 1954. The report also included the proposed improvements <br />they expect to make. After some discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, that <br />the Lease with the Wabasso Civic Club be extended to April 1, 1965 with <br />the understanding that the new bath house and the Boardwalk be completed <br />before April 1,'1962, provided there is no unusual circumstances or burdens <br />put on the Civic Club because of a hurricane or other disaster, and further <br />that no other structures be added to the property without the approval <br />of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Bill Payne of the Rod & Gun Club appeared before the Board and <br />stated that because of the high water at Blue Cypress Lake there had been <br />washouts. He stated that shell had been donated to them but they needed <br />trucks to haul in the shell and also needed help to drive pilings. The <br />Board requested the County Engineer look the situation over and see what <br />help he could give, if any. <br />Earl Monroe appeared before the Board and requested the County either <br />repair the bridge at Citrus Road and D-5 or put in ainew bridge at D-5 <br />and a half a mile South of Citrus Road.
