Sherman N. Smith Jr. reported that the Florida Inland Navigation <br />District has approved the plat and layout of the proposed Wabasso Island <br />Park. <br />He also reported that all those interested in garbage franchises had <br />met and agreed on the details for a franchise and that he will redraft <br />the proposed franchises. <br />The Attorney for the Board had drafted a supplemental lease to the <br />present lease between the County and the Wabasso Civic Club. After some <br />discussion in the matter Motion Was made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded <br />by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, that the following <br />Resolution be adopted: <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County holds and owns certain prop- <br />erty in said county commonly known as the Wabasso Beach Park and other <br />adjacent property dedicated for public park purposes; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian Rive <br />County, Florida, did lease said park to the Wabasso Beach and Civic Club, <br />Inc., by lease dated April 1, 1952; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Civic Club is a corporation not for profit for <br />the purpose of promoting community interests and welfare and it appearing <br />. unto the Board that it would be to the best interest of the county that said leas <br />be supplemented and extended; and, <br />WHEREAS, this Board is satisfied that such property is <br />required for such use and is not needed for county purposes; Now,'therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that the supplement to said lease presented <br />herewith is hereby approved and the Chairman and Clerk of this Board are <br />herewith authorized and instructed to make, execute and deliver said supple - <br />ment for and upon behalf of said County. <br />
