C . The CONTRACTOR shall utilize a 10-character submittal identification numbering <br /> system in the following manner: <br /> 1 . The first character shall be a D , S , P , M, or R , which represents Shop/Working <br /> Drawing and other Product Data (D ) , Sample (S ) , Preliminary Submittal (P) , <br /> Operating/Maintenance Manual (M) , or Request for Information (R) . <br /> 2 . The next five digits shall be the applicable Specification Section Number. <br /> 3 . The next three digits shall be the numbers 001 -999 to sequentially number each <br /> initial separate item or drawing submitted under each specific Section number. <br /> 4 . The last character shall be a letter, A-Z, indicating the submission , or <br /> resubmission of the same Drawing, i . e . , " A= 1st submission , B =2nd <br /> submission , C=3rd submission , etc . A typical submittal number would be as <br /> follows : <br /> D-03300-008 -B <br /> D = Shop Drawing . <br /> 03300 = Specification Section for Concrete . <br /> 008 = The eighth initial submittal under this specification section . <br /> B = The second submission (first resubmission ) of that particular <br /> shop drawing . <br /> D . Notify the ENGINEER in writing , at the time of submittal , of any deviations in the <br /> submittals from the requirements of the Contract Documents . <br /> E . The review and approval of shop drawings , samples or product data by the <br /> ENGINEER shall not relieve the CONTRACTOR from his/her responsibility with <br /> regard to the fulfillment of the terms of the Contract. All risks of error and omission <br /> are assumed by the CONTRACTOR and the ENGINEER will have no responsibility <br /> therefore . <br /> F. No portion of the work requiring a shop drawing , sample , or product data shall be <br /> started nor shall any materials be fabricated or installed prior to the approval or <br /> qualified approval of such item . Fabrication performed , materials purchased or on - site <br /> construction accomplished which does not conform to approved shop drawings and <br /> data shall be at the CONTRACTOR 's risk . The OWNER will not be liable for any <br /> expense or delay due to corrections or remedies required to accomplish conformity . <br /> G . Project work, materials , fabrication , and installation shall conform to approved shop <br /> drawings , applicable samples , and product data. <br /> Page 20 of 55 <br />
