SECTION 01091 <br /> ' REFERENCE STANDARDS <br /> 1 . 1 GENERAL <br /> ' A . Whenever reference is made to the furnishing of materials or testing thereof <br /> to conform to the standards of any technical society, organization or body, it <br /> shall be construed to mean the latest standard , code , specification or <br /> ' tentative specification adopted and published at the date of advertisement for <br /> bids , even though reference has been made to an earlier standard . When a <br /> reference standard is specified , comply with requirements and <br /> recommendations stated in that standard , except when they are modified by <br /> the Contract Documents , or when applicable laws , ordinances , rules , <br /> regulations or codes establish stricter standards .
