Stone Bros. Funeral Home requested permission t� bury a colored man <br />who had passed away without relatives or funds to bury him. The Board <br />requested the Clerk wire the State Anatomical Board to see if they wished <br />the body. They informed Mr. Stone they would let him know after receiving <br />an answer to the wire. <br />Audit Report No. 5230 of the Florida Inland Navigation District <br />for the fiscal year ended December 31, 1959 was presented to the Board, <br />and same was ordered filed a' part of the public records of the Board, <br />Pursuant to Section 21.121(3), Florida Statutes. <br />The Board 0.K.ed the sale of bathroom fixtures for $40.00 to some <br />of the men with the Road & Bridge Department. <br />The County Engineer stated he would like to have the Board clarify <br />what space is to be given to the Small Claims Judge when the new addition <br />is completed. The Board stated that only the room now used by the Secre- <br />tary to the .Circuit Judge is to be given to the Small Claims Judge. <br />A bid was submitted by J. S. Hogan in the amount of $100.00 for <br />the two-story apartment house, known as the Hewitt Apartments, which had <br />been advertised for sale some time ago and no bids had been received at that <br />time. Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded'by Commissioner <br />Hamilton and carried, that this bid by J. S. Hogan be accepted. <br />The County Engineer stated that Hubert Graves will give $1800.00 <br />towards the building of a concrete bridge 4 1/2 miles West of Route 60 on <br />Ranch Road. The Board told Mr. Schmucker to accept the offer. <br />The County Attorney reported to the Board the results of jury verdicts <br />and settlements made at the trial of the condemnation proceedings by the <br />County in acquiring right of ways for State Road 5, also known as U.S. #1, <br />according to a schedule of settlements and jury verdicts submitted by the <br />Attorney to the Board. Upon motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded <br />by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, the settlements effected <br />were ratified, approved and confirmed and the verdicts of the jury duly <br />noted and the payments in accordance with the judgment of the Court were <br />authorized and approved. <br />There being no further business, the meeting then adjourned. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
