ARTICLE 6 <br /> UNION ACTIVITY <br /> 6 . 01 The County and the Union acknowledge that the right of employees to work <br /> shall not be deprived or abridged on account of membership , <br /> non-membership , or participation or non-participation in any union or <br /> organization . <br /> 6 . 02 The Union Chief Shop Steward or alternate shall be allowed up to two weeks <br /> time off to attend a union seminar, conference , or convention . The time off <br /> shall be without pay and shall be considered leave of absence unless a shift <br /> exchange arrangement has been provided . <br /> 6 . 03 Up to three members of the Union's Negotiations Committee shall be allowed <br /> time off with pay, but without overtime , for all scheduled bargaining meetings <br /> between the Union and the County. Such time off will only be allowed when <br /> working hours of the Employee conflict with bargaining unit negotiations . <br /> 6 . 04 By mutual agreement of the employer and the Union , there is hereby <br /> established a Joint Labor-Management Committee , which shall consist of not <br /> more than two (2) members designated by the Union and two (2) members <br /> designated by the Emergency Services Director. The Union Committee <br /> membership shall consist of employees from within the position classification <br /> 6 . <br />
