Mr. Heller of the National Cash Register Co. appeared before the <br />Board and explained the workings of their accounting - typewriting machine. <br />The Deputy Clerk explained how much time and accuracy such a machine would <br />save and requested permission to advertise to buy such .a machine. Upon <br />Motion made by'Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell <br />and unanimously carried, the Board O.K.ed the advertising for an accounting <br />machine. <br />Mr. Sudbrock appeared before the Board and the Chairman informed him <br />they had already discussed the possibility of opening Oslo Road to the <br />County line. Mr. Ed Carter also was recognized and stated it would be a <br />good idea to at least have a survey made for such a right of way because of <br />the toll road. After further discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, that <br />this matter be tabled for the time being and that Ed Carter give us a firm <br />offer at the next meeting of the Board of the cost of surveying and estab- <br />lishing the corners and section lines for such a road. <br />A letter was received and read from Dr. C. C. Flood, County Health <br />Officer in which he requested the County supplement his salary at least <br />$150.00 to $200.00 a month. The Board stated they didn't know if they could <br />legally do this and requested Dr. Flood check with some of the other counties <br />and see how they are doing it. <br />The matter of the vines on the_Courthouse Walls was brought up and the <br />Poard was of the opinion it would be better to have them removed, and requested <br />the Deputy Clerk notify the Landscape Company who takes care of the yard work <br />to have the vines removed. <br />The Deputy Clerk stated that the people renting the Porhorsky house <br />had requested that some painting be done. The Board requested the County <br />Engineer look into this and have his men do the necessary painting. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the <br />Board and gave a report of her activities for the month of March and said <br />report was ordered filed. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and carried, and the following Item to Item Transfers were approved. <br />
