TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 1961 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met at <br />the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida in a regular meeting held at 9:00 <br />o'clock A. M., Tuesday, June 6, 1961. All members were present. Also <br />present were Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney for the Board, Ed Schmucker, <br />County Engineer and Katherine Morrison, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any corrections or additions to <br />be made to the minutes of May 2 and 16th. There were none and upon <br />Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers <br />and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. <br />A delegation from the Vero Beach, Indian River County Chamber of <br />Commerce appeared before the Board. John Sutherland, Bob Spillman, Jim <br />Kressler, Ben Thompson and Tate Simpson all spoke explaining the different <br />phases of advertising, etc. that the Chamber is accomplishing and would <br />like to accomplish in the future. They requested that in the Board's <br />1961-61 budget they allot $7,500.00 to the Chamber of Commerce. The Board <br />stated they would take their request under consideration when they take up <br />the matter of their budget. <br />Mr. C. F. Schlitt appeared before the Board and stated he had applied <br />to the Zoning Board for a change in Zoning, which had been denied, and would <br />like to know why. The Board told Mr. Schlitt he would have to check with <br />the Zoning Board. <br />
