The objective of the proposed scope of services is to : (i)
screen soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the existing underground storage tank (UST) system
located in the southeastern portion of the property for potential soil and/or groundwater impacts
related to the storage and dispensing of petroleum products, and (ii) assess the northern portion of
the site, which may be excavated for future use as a stormwater retention pond. It is understood
IRC is considering acquisition of the property and the existing fuel storage and dispensing system
will eventually require removal and closure in accordance with Florida Department of
Environmental Protection (FDEP) requirements.
This limited investigation is intended to provide soil and groundwater quality information to
aid in planning and budgeting for future activities at the site. Additionally, since there are existing
petroleum impacts in the former UST area in the southwestern portion of the site which are
currently being addressed and funded through the State of Florida Petroleum Pre-approval
Program (PAP), the discovery of potential petroleum impacts in the current UST system prior to
acquisition of the site from Cumberland Farms may enable the remediation of any additional
identified impacts to be funded through the PAP.
XR06212/CCRO60075 IRC-Limited Petroleum Site Assessment
engineers I scientists I innovators
