ARTICLE 34 <br /> SALARIES <br /> 34.01 Upon ratification of this agreement, Paramedic I and Paramedic II will be placed in <br /> the Non-EMT pay scale, EMS Field Supervisor will be placed in the Captain/non- <br /> EMT pay scale, and Senior Fire-Medic will be placed in the Lead Fire-Medic pay <br /> scale. Non-firefighter certified ALS personnel will be converted using a 52 . 5% rate. <br /> They will be placed in the step plan based on their years of service. In the event that <br /> the converted pay rate is higher than the step they are placed in, their pay will remain <br /> at the converted rate until such time that the range or their subsequent step increase is <br /> greater than the converted rate of pay. If determined by competent authority that the <br /> 207(k) exemption does not apply, affected employees will be placed back into the <br /> pay plan as previously set forth in the Teamsters Local 769 2005-06 contract, Article <br /> 34 .01 , and absences from work will not be counted as hours worked for overtime <br /> computation. Step, merit, lump-sum payments and cost-of-living increases shall not <br /> apply for the purpose of retroactive compensation. <br /> 34 . 02 For Fiscal Year 2006-2007 , bargaining unit employees will be provided wages as <br /> follows : <br /> A. On October 6, 2006, the non-EMT pay scale will be adjusted by 3 %, the EMT pay <br /> scale will be adjusted by 4%, and the dual certified pay scale will be adjusted by 6% <br /> (see Pay Scale Appendix). <br /> B . All bargaining unit employees will proceed to the next step of their respective pay <br /> scale effective the first full pay period in April 2007. All bargaining unit employees <br /> at the maximum step shall receive an $ 800 lump sum effective the first full pay <br /> period in April 2007 . Any step moves or lump sum payments after the expiration of <br /> this Agreement shall be subject to collective bargaining. <br /> 58 <br />
