ARTICLE 28 <br /> ANNUAL LEAVE <br /> 28 .01 Employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to accrue paid annual leave on the <br /> following basis : <br /> 1 . Eleven ( 11 ) working days vacation for shift employees and ten ( 10) working days <br /> vacation for non-shift employees shall be earned each year for the first five (5) years <br /> of continuous employment commencing with the anniversary date. <br /> 2 . Sixteen ( 16) working days vacation for shift employees and fifteen ( 15) working days <br /> vacation for non-shift employees shall be earned at the start of the sixth year of <br /> continuous employment through the end of the tenth year of continuous employment. <br /> 3 . For each additional year of continuous employment, an additional day of vacation <br /> shall be earned up to a maximum of twenty-one (21 ) days per year for shift <br /> employees and twenty (20) days per year for non-shift employees: <br /> CONTINUOUS EMPLOYMENT ANNUAL DAYS EARNED <br /> SHIFT NON- SHIFT <br /> 11 YEARS 17 DAYS 16 DAYS <br /> 12 YEARS 18 DAYS 17 DAYS <br /> 13 YEARS 19 DAYS 18 DAYS <br /> 14 YEARS 20 DAYS 19 DAYS <br /> 15 YEARS 21 DAYS 20 DAYS <br /> 28 .02 Forty-two (42) days may be carried over from year to year; however, an employee shall not <br /> be allowed more than thirty (3 0) days annual leave in a one-half ( 1 /2) year period. <br /> 28 .03 Employer rules and regulations will apply regarding notification and/or pay for annual leave <br /> earned above 500 hours. Employees retiring after entering the DROP will be eligible to <br /> receive up to 300 hours of leave upon separation. <br /> 45 <br />
