p iK 7 PnE554 <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 1962 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, <br />met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida in a regular meeting held at <br />8:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, January 9, 1962. All members were present. <br />Also present were John Gould, Attorney, Ed Schmucker, County Engineer; <br />Al Webber and Freda Wright, Deputy Clerk. <br />Robert Graves, Chairman turned the Chair over to John Gould, <br />Attorney. <br />The Acting Chairman, John Gould, stated the first order of business <br />is the election of a Chairman and called for nominations. Commissioner <br />Waddell, made a Motion that all present serving officials for the year 1961 <br />be continued for the ensuing year 1962 and the following County employees <br />be re-employed for the ensuing year: John Gould, Attorney for the Board; <br />Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, Gladys Vigliano, Clerk in <br />the Welfare Office; James E. Roberts, County Service Officer; Edwin S. <br />Schmucker, Jr., County Engineer; Forrest N. McCullars, County Agent; Thomas <br />Thompson, Janitor. This Motion was seconded by Commissioner McCullers and <br />unanimously carried. <br />The Acting Chairman, then turned the meeting over to Chairman Robert <br />Graves. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions to be made <br />to.the minutes of December S and December 19. There were none and upon <br />Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald <br />and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. <br />Orval Shelton, representing Mrs. Rowe and Mrs.Finey, appeared before <br />the Board and stated that the City had laid water pipe across 34th avenue <br />and that Mr. J. Austin Taylor had asked the city to remove same. Mr. <br />Shelton wanted to know if Mr. Taylor had authority to do so. After <br />considerable discussion and upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald,. <br />seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, the County Attor- <br />ney is requested to write a letter of information to Mr. Taylor. <br />01r0K, 7 FACE554 <br />
