Recreation Department <br /> l c H rDepartmental Structure and Functions <br /> The Indian River County Recreation Department consists of thirty-five full time, forty- two part <br /> time , and sixty-two seasonal employees . There are also over 100 volunteers serving as <br /> coaches . Staff consists of the following : <br /> Recreation Director fl ) <br /> • Operations Manager fl ) <br /> • Recreation Supervisor ( 1 ) <br /> • Aquatics Supervisor ( 1 ) <br /> • Athletic Coordinator ( 1 ) <br /> • Special Events Coordinator ( 1 ) <br /> • Pool Manager ( 2 ) <br /> Recreation Leader (3 ) <br /> • Staff Assistant (3) <br /> Head Lifeguard ( 1 ) <br /> Full-time Lifeguard ( 13) <br /> • Part-time Lifeguard ( 31 ) <br /> • Full-time Staff Assistant (3) <br /> Part-time Staff Assistant ( 6) <br /> Primary functions of the Recreation Department include the following : <br /> Diverse youth programs <br /> • Diverse adult programs <br /> • Operate and manage five beach parks <br /> • Manage one Olympic pool and one community pool <br /> Market sporting events, aquatics, community special events , and regional events <br /> and activities <br /> The Department currently does not use any GIS or maps for any purpose . All GIS users in the <br /> a Recreation Department will be Tier 3 GIS Users (see Chapter 2 : GIS Organizational Structure <br /> and Staffing for more information on Tier 2 & Tier 3 GIS Users ) . <br /> '- 9Existing Hardware and Software <br /> The Recreation Department currently has eleven PCs, all of which are connected to the <br /> County Network. All PCs are running on Windows XP . No laptops or other mobile computers <br /> are currently maintained . <br /> The Department uses the following software packages in various capacities . <br /> 1 . MS Office Suite <br /> 2 . Munis ( for paying bills) <br /> 3 . Corel <br /> The Department intends to procure Recreation Management Software such as RecTrac or <br /> RecWare including online scheduling functionality sometime in the near future ( spring 2006 ) . <br /> Please refer to the Recommended GIS Applications section later in this document for a <br /> detailed description of RecTrac . <br /> 227 <br /> GIS Needs Assessment and Implementation Plan Chapter 1 - Departmental GIS Needs Assessment <br />
