Additional layers may be required as the Department increases its GIS utilization and <br /> incorporates additional field data . Please refer to the GIS Layers section later in this <br /> document for a complete listing of GIS Data Layers , collection methodologies , and <br /> recommended update department . <br /> StMapping and Spatial Analysis of Parks and Recreation Data <br /> The Recreation Department will benefit , directly and indirectly, from integration of GIS- based <br /> applications for mapping and analysis of recreational facilities, demographics , vacant land , <br /> parks, crimes , and turtle nesting sites . <br /> The Recreation Department can utilize GIS to assist in several tasks , including : <br /> • Facilities mapping and management <br /> • County assets mapping and analysis <br /> Proposed park and facilities location analysis <br /> Program and facility registration mapping and tracking <br /> • Park maintenance work orders and inventory mapping and analysis <br /> • Statistical analysis for budgetary preparations <br /> • Using maps to train personnel <br /> • Conduct analysis on the placement of irrigation heads to determine proper spacing <br /> and coverage <br /> It is recommended that Recreation personnel utilize an Intranet GIS data browser to conduct <br /> basic spatial analysis and produce maps . This Intranet browser will be based on the <br /> enterprise-wide Intranet GIS data browser procured by the County .
