0 Clerk of the Court <br /> Departmental Structure and Functions <br /> The Indian River County Clerk of the Court is an elected official . A total of 118 staff members <br /> are employed in the Clerk ' s Office ; eight employees are dedicated solely to providing <br /> information technology services for the Office . Main duties of Information Systems staff <br /> involve application development and maintenance, equipment support, and networking . <br /> This Clerk of the Court is chiefly <br /> f + , <br /> responsible for maintaining � � � t F � a <br /> court records and collecting r1 ^ ,� ,� r „ . I l f" P �JI�I , <br /> all court related fines and fees ; �� Jl T �J 44 <br /> The Clerk serves as the <br /> accountant and official record keeper for the Board of County Commissioners . The Clerk ' s <br /> % Office also sells marriage licenses and provides applications for passports . <br /> The Clerk ' s main office , located at the Indian River Courthouse , is in charge of the majority of <br /> the recording and other relevant duties . However, there is also a North County office <br /> located in Sebastian , FL . The North County office issues marriage licenses and performs <br /> marriage ceremonies ; accepts payments for traffic tickets and child support ; processes <br /> passport applications; helps with Official Records searches ; accepts paperwork for filing at <br /> the Indian River County Courthouse ; and accepts paperwork for recording at the <br /> Courthouse . <br /> The Clerk ' s Office web site includes an electronic records search that allows the public to do <br /> records searches . Public can search by name , by date , by name and date range, by book <br /> or book and page , and by document type and date . <br /> To manage its myriad of responsibilities, the Clerk ' s Office is divided into various <br /> Departments , including the following : <br /> • Clerk to the Board <br /> • Civil Department <br /> • Family Services Department <br /> • Felony Department <br /> • Finance Department <br /> Internal Services <br /> • Recording Department <br /> • Traffic Department <br /> Clerk to the Board <br /> The Clerk to the Board Department is the official record keeper for Indian River County . It: <br /> • Keeping the official record for actions of the Solid Waste Disposal District, Emergency <br /> Services District , Environmental Control Board and the Value Adjustment Board . <br /> • Taking care of contracts, resolutions and ordinances . <br /> • Providing the public with information about concealed weapon permits . <br /> Civil Department <br /> The Civil Department processes civil lawsuits , including small claims , evictions , county court <br /> cases , circuit court cases , garnishments, and probate and guardianship cases . Cases <br /> involving less than $5000 are filed in Small Claims court .
