Rt�'Flr r <br /> Risk Management Division <br /> Departmental Structure and Functions <br /> The Risk Management Division employs three full-time employees including : <br /> • Risk Manager <br /> • Workers Compensation Coordinator <br /> • Safety Coordinator <br /> The Indian River County Risk Management Division is responsible for the County ' s modified <br /> self-insurance program for the Board of County Commissioners , Clerk, Supervisor of Elections , <br /> Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Sheriff . <br /> The Division is also in charge of: <br /> • Property and Casualty Insurance <br /> • Professional liability and workers ' compensation for County operations <br /> • Coordination of claims against the County <br /> • Employee Safety <br /> Employees are trained regularly pertaining to safety in the office and the field to ensure a <br /> safe and suitable environment in which to work . If a near miss occurs within the county, an <br /> incident report is filled out and submitted to the division . Most of these near misses occur in <br /> the field with Utility Field Crews or Sheriff and Fire personnel . <br /> The department currently does not use GIS directly . GIS users in the Risk Management <br /> Division will be Level 3 GIS Users ( see Chapter 2 : GIS Organizational Structure and Staffing for <br /> more information on Level 3 GIS Users) . <br /> 3 I Existing Hardware and Software <br /> = Hardware in the Risk Management Division consists of 3 desktop PCs , all running Windows XP . <br /> The Risk Management Division uses the following software applications : <br /> 1 . MS Office <br /> 2 . Munis <br /> ss Recommended GIS Needs and Duties <br /> The Risk Management Division is poised to take advantage of GIS in support of various <br /> departmental functions. The Division has only two GIS needs : <br /> • Internal Access to Geo-Spatial County Data <br /> • Field Access to Geo-Spatial Data <br /> Internal Access to Geo-Spatial County Data <br /> An Intranet GIS data browser is recommended for Risk Management personnel to conduct <br /> basic spatial analysis and to produce maps for use by the field safety officer .
