7 FaAU <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 1962 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular meeting held <br />at 8:00 o'clock, A. M. Tuesday, March 6, 1962. All members were pre- <br />sent. Also present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, John Gould, <br />Attorney, Al Webber and Freda Wright, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions <br />to be made to the minutes of February 6, 14 and 20. Commissioner <br />Macdonald asked that the minutes of February 14 be changed deleting <br />that part of the Motion introduced by him as follows: "without <br />floating bond issue and the bridge to be built out of the secondary <br />road fund." Upon Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, the Minutes of <br />February 6 and 20 were approved as read and the minutes of February 14 <br />as amended were approved as read. <br />The C Aiman gave the following report to the Press and other <br />interested persons: <br />"Ifter much deliberation and conferences with the State Road <br />Board member, Mr. John Monahan, this board finds that with some parti- <br />cipation with secondary road funds, in cooperation with the State Road <br />Dept., we have been assured by Mr. Monahan, that a contract for the <br />paving of State Road A -1-A and the bridgeing of the Sebastian Inlet will <br />be let by August 1, 1962. <br />This Board is pushing it's attorney to complete the securing <br />of the necessary -rights of way for this project, and are asking the <br />property owners to cooperate with the attorney and this board to their <br />fullest so that this project will not be held up. <br />This board does not feel that by using part of the secondary <br />funds that it will in no way curtail the building of secondary roads in <br />this county." <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commission- <br />er Macdonald and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was <br />adopted.k <br />
