ORGANIZATION CAPABILITY (Entire Section A not to exceed one page) <br /> 1 . Provide the mission statement and vision of your organization. <br /> H.O.P.E. Academy seeks to revive moral and social values. Also, to help build self- <br /> esteem and empower the community with skills that will help them to achieve, succeed, <br /> and excel ; focusing primanly on suspended students. The acronym H.O .P.E. stands for <br /> Helping Other People Excel and our motto is expressed through our slogan, "Instilling <br /> the Desire to Aspire." <br /> 2. Provide a brief summary of your organization including areas of expertise, <br /> accomplishments, and population served. <br /> As an alternative program to out-of-school suspension, H.O.P.& Academy provides <br /> these at-risk youth a safe, peaceful and structured setting while suspended form school. <br /> They receive one-on-one tutoring with their regular class assignments, taught behavior <br /> modification techniques and management skills. We provide an opportunity for the <br /> students to have . their suspended days reduced or exonerated altogether. With Indian <br /> River County Mental Health Association as our partner, they coordinate our group <br /> discussions designed to bolster self-esteem and life skills that instills "a desire to <br /> aspire." We are . open for any of the 1,600 students who may end up being suspended <br /> from school. <br /> 4 <br />
