r <br /> • "The quantities of pipe culvert to be paid for under this Section shall be the plan quantity in <br /> feet of concrete Pipe Culvert and Corrugated Aluminum Pipe Culvert subject the provisions <br /> • of 9-3. 2. Any additions or deletions thereto, as authorized by the Engineer, shall be <br /> determined by plan dimensions, final measurement, or any combination thereof, as <br /> measured along the centerline of the completed and accepted pipe ." <br /> • Lifting holes on pipe culverts shall be grounds for rejection of pipe. ASTM Specification C- <br /> 76-85A and AASTM Specification M170-89 are modified by the following : <br /> " "The exposure of the ends of the longitudinal stirrups or spaces that have been used to <br /> position the cages during the placement of the concrete may be a cause for rejection by the <br /> Project Engineer. <br /> During construction , the Contractor is to maintain the storm sewer void of any silting <br /> material . Prior to final acceptance the Contractor or Engineer shall inspect and certify that <br /> • the storm sewer is free of any construction material or debris and operates in a functional <br /> manner. Contractor shall remove silt and other material from sewer at no cost to Owner. <br /> Compensation shall be included in the maintenance of traffic lump sum item . <br /> • <br /> D . Aluminum Oil Skimmers : Aluminum Oil Skimmers shall be used where indicated in the <br /> plans and shall conform to the following provisions: <br /> The Work consists of the fabrication , cutting , bending , furnishing and installing oil skimmers <br /> on drainage structures as detailed on the Plans. The Contractor shall use all new materials <br /> for the posts and facing materials for the oil skimmer. The Contractor is responsible for the <br /> r use of materials and methods necessary for the long term maintainability of the units. <br /> Oil skimmers shall be constructed of corrugated aluminum . They shall be constructed to <br /> • the liens and grades as shown on the Plans . The skimmers include all labor and materials <br /> including mounting fasteners, brackets, posts bonding adhesives, Class III concrete for <br /> posts and all other items necessary for the construction of the completed skimmer. <br /> r <br /> Material <br /> • <br /> The skimmers shall be constructed of 12 gauge 2-2/3" x '/:" corrugated aluminum . <br /> r <br /> Basis of Payment <br /> The compensation for the furnishing , bending , fabrication and installation of materials as well as <br /> the labor involved for placement are considered incidental to the contract drainage items as <br /> shall be included in the unit price for the associated drainage structure . <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> r <br />
