., D. CONTROL WIRES : Shall be installed in a neat and orderly fashion underneath <br /> the main and lateral pipes , if possible. Ten-inch loops shall be provided at each <br /> valve where control wires are connected. All wires passing under existing or <br /> .r future paving, construction, etc. , shall be encased in plastic pipe as specified, <br /> extending at least twelve inches beyond edges of paving or construction. <br /> E. TESTING: All main lines shall be hydrostatically tested in the presence of the <br /> Owner' s representative at a pressure of 40 psi for a period of time not less than <br /> four (4) hours, should any leaks be found, they shall be repaired. The line shall <br /> then be retested until satisfactory. All lateral lines downstream from the remote <br /> control valves shall be visually inspected for leaks, should any be found, they shall <br /> be repaired. The line shall then be retested until satisfactory. <br /> r <br /> F. BACKFILL AND COMPACTING: After system is approved or sections thereof, <br /> backfill excavations and trenches with clean soil , free of rubbish. Backfill for all <br /> up trenches, regardless of the type of pipe covered shall be compacted to a minimum <br /> 90% of its maximum density (AASHTO T- 180) . Dress off all areas to finish <br /> r <br /> grades . <br /> G. PUMP ENCLOSURE: <br /> r 1 . Pump house shall be allied fiberglass model FPH 4 x 4 or approved equal onto <br /> 4" thick concrete slab. <br /> r <br /> 2. Provide adequate interior space for maintenance. Approx. size : 4 ' x 4 ' x 3 ' <br /> tall . Increase size if required by size of pump and pressure tank. <br /> r <br /> 3 . Submit shop drawings for review prior to constructing. <br /> �. H. FINAL ADJUSTMENT: Balance and adjust the irrigation system components for <br /> efficient, proper operation. This includes controller synchronization as well as <br /> individual settings of control stations. <br /> r <br /> 3 . INSTRUCTIONS : <br /> • <br /> A. LABELS <br /> 1 . Number each zone valve box on underside of valve box cover with a black <br /> waterproof marker for reference. Numbers shall match the zone numbers on <br /> the drawings. <br /> r <br /> 2. Number each zone valve control wire at the controller with a waterproof <br /> marker and tags. Numbers shall match the zone numbers on the drawings. <br /> B .
