SECTION 02050 <br /> ' SITE PREPARATION <br /> Revised January 9 , 2004 Per Addendum No . 1 <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> ' 1 . 1 SCOPE <br /> A . This Section covers work along the construction site , including clearing and <br /> ' disposal , complete as specified herein . Refer to Section 01541 for additional <br /> requirements regarding protection of trees , plants , existing structures , etc. Grubbing <br /> and stripping is not required for this wetland mitigation project . <br /> 1 . 2 LIMITS OF CLEARING <br /> A . Clear exotic vegetation from the areas shown on the Drawings . Refer to the <br /> Drawings and specifications for the areas to be mechanically cleared and for those <br /> ' to be cleared by hand . <br /> 1 . 3 PERMITS <br /> ' A . Before beginning any clearing or grubbing work, apply for and obtain an Indian River <br /> County Land Clearing Permit and pay all associated fees . <br /> ' 1 . 4 CLEARING <br /> A . The surface of the ground for the area to be mechanically cleared (the Restoration <br /> ' Area ) shall be cleared of all above-grade exotic vegetation (dead and alive ) , <br /> structures , concrete , rubbish and all other objectionable obstructions . No stumps <br /> ' shall be left higher than 12 inches above ground level . When hand clearing the <br /> Enhancement Area , all trees , etc , to be removed shall be removed to a maximum <br /> height of 12 inches above ground level . In all areas , spray the stumps with an <br /> ' approved herbicide to kill the remaining plant . Apply said herbicide within 15 <br /> minutes of cutting the plant . Preserve all specimen trees and provide tree buffers to <br /> the drip line on all specimen trees .
