TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 1962 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met <br />at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular meeting held at <br />8:00 o'clock, A. M., Tuesday, June 5, 1962. Present were D. B. McCullers, <br />Vice Chairman, Donald Macdonald, B. Q. Waddell and J. J. P. Hamilton. <br />Absent was, Robert W. Graves, Chairman. Also present were Ed Schmucker, <br />County Engineer, John Gould, Attorney, and Al Webber and Freda Wright, <br />Deputy Clerks. <br />The Vice Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions <br />to be made to the minutes of May 8, 22 and 25, 1962. There were none <br />and upon Motion made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. <br />Mrs. Gladys Vigliano, County Welfare Worker, gave an oral <br />report of some of her activities for the month of April and filed a <br />written report with the Board. <br />The County Attorney reported that he had a letter from the <br />Railroad which stated that if the county would pay for warning signals, <br />the railroad would re -open the crossing at Roseland. It was the <br />decision of the Board that they did not wish to enter in an -agreement <br />of this nature and upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded <br />by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, the County Attorney is <br />instructed to proceed with the suit against the Railroad company. <br />The County Supervisor of Registration appeared before the <br />Board and requested an opinion from the County Attorney with,regard to <br />the write-in votes cast on May_29,1962, Second Primary election. The <br />County Attorney stated that in his opinion, this opinion being taken <br />from the Attorney General opinion issued on May 24, 1962, the names of <br />Kennett B. Olson and Theresa Rose be certified to the State as the <br />elected Republican State Committeeman and Committeewoman. <br />some of <br />The County Attorney reported that/the deeds for Roseland road <br />had been signed and the deed to the Auxier property for the county dump <br />had been signed. <br />
