HIBISCUS CHILDREN'S CENTER ' , PERSONNEL POLICIES <br /> EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION <br /> It is the policy of Hibiscus Children ' s Center to recruit, hire, train and advance the best qualified <br /> applicants or employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, marital status, age, <br /> national origin, disability, or any other protected class under relevant state and federal and local <br /> laws . All job applications are processed and evaluated in accordance with these standards and <br /> current staffing needs without discrimination. <br /> Every year, Hibiscus Children's Center completes an annual staffing plan to analyze and compare <br /> its current employment patterns to include a minimum of: education and experience level, <br /> demographic composition of populations served, need to make changes such as reassignments <br /> and transfers, and need for culturally responsive and competent practitioners. When the analysis <br /> demonstrates that ethnic and racial backgrounds of personnel do not reflect the community ' s <br /> composition, HCC will implement a plan to promote equal employment opportunities that <br /> establishes goals for recruitment, employment and promotion, `and includes timeframes for <br /> correction of any deficiencies identified in the analysis , <br /> HIRING AUTHORITY <br /> With the exception of the Chief Executive Officer, who is hired by the Board of Directors, all <br /> paid staff shall be hired by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or their <br /> designees. <br /> CONTRACTS AND/OR SPECIAL TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT <br /> Any special agreement concerning employment which does not conform to Hibiscus Children ' s <br /> Center policy and these personnel practices, and/or provides for employment for a specific <br /> period of time, must be submitted to the Chief Operating Officer for review and approval. All <br /> agreements shall be in writing and signed by both the Supervisor and the employee or individual <br /> contracting with Hibiscus Children ' s Center. Unless such approval is given in writing by the <br /> Chief Operating Officer, then such agreement shall have no validity, ' <br /> Hibiscus Children's Center carefully reviews it ' s retention of independent contractors, <br /> volunteers, and temporary employees with respect to exposure to tax law, wage and hour laws, <br /> and other applicable employment and labor laws, conforms with legal requirements , and does not <br /> place the organization at financial risk, <br /> Hibiscus Children ' s Center provides student field placements and/or internships . All student <br /> supervision must be provided by a trained and certified School of Social Work and Florida Field <br /> Consortium professional. Background and pre-employment screening is required.
