Provide the mission statement and vision of your organization. <br /> The mission of the Homeless Assistance Center, Inc . (HAC) is to provide opportunities for <br /> homeless individuals and families to end homelessness by achieving self- sufficiency through <br /> education, living wages, and permanent housing . <br /> 2. Provide a brief summary of your organization including areas of expertise, <br /> accomplishments and population served. <br /> The RAC has developed from a grassroots organization, from incorporation in 1992, to an <br /> organization, which provides emergency, transitional, and rental housing programs to <br /> homeless individuals and families . During the last year RAC has accomplished the <br /> following : <br /> • Provided emergency housing for 182 homeless people ( 14 families, 150 adults, 32 <br /> children) <br /> • Provided rental assistance to 176 homeless people ( 44 families, 60 adults, 116 children) <br /> • Completed construction of a 3800 sq . ft . transitional housing unit which will house 16 <br /> families a year, opening June 2003 <br /> • Acquired a grant to establish management information system in collaboration with the <br /> Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council . <br /> * Received and implemented a therapeutic art program for homeless children <br /> 4 <br />
