i <br /> GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> Disaster Debris Removal and Disposal Contract <br /> SCOPE of SERVICES <br /> Disaster Recovery Contractors are sought to support Indian River County in the management of <br /> debris resulting from but not limited to catastrophic events such as tornadoes and hurricanes . The <br /> Contractor shall clear and remove any and all "eligible" debris (See Exhibit B for definition of <br /> "eligible" debris) primarily from public right-of-way on County streets and roads . Work will include <br /> the following : <br /> • Examine debris to determine whether or not debris is eligible, burnable or non burnable <br /> • Load the debris <br /> 1 <br /> • Haul the debris to approved staging area, dumpsite or landfill <br /> • Process debris including sorting, grinding, mulching, or burning <br /> • Establish and operating temporary debris staging and processing sites <br /> • Provide project management services <br /> • Haul and dispose of reduced debris to permitted disposal site <br /> • Respond and repair damages resulting from Contractor ' s work <br /> • Keep accurate records and provide copies to County if requested. <br /> • Assist Indian River County in FEMA reporting and reimbursement efforts <br /> Note : Contractor shall comply with all provisions contained in Appendix A. <br /> EXPENSES INCURRED <br /> This solicitation does not commit the County to pay any costs incurred in the preparation and <br /> submission of an offer in any form or to produce or contract for said services . The County reserves <br /> the right to require any or all Respondents , at no cost to the County, to meet with a <br /> Selection <br /> Committee subsequent to receipt of proposals, to be interviewed by the Committee and/or to provide <br /> additional information or documents as may be required. The Indian River County Board of County <br /> Commissioners or its designee are the only individuals who can commit the County to the <br /> expenditure of funds in connection with any contract resulting from this solicitation. <br /> INQUIRIES , INTERPRETATIONS , AND ADDENDA <br /> All firms are herby placed on notice that the County has designated Ms . Terry Thompson, P . E . , <br /> Capital Projects Manager, as the liaison for this project. All requests for information regarding this <br /> bid must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the bid due date to Ms . Thompson at the <br /> Capital Project ' s office, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960- 3365 . Email requests are <br /> acceptable . <br /> RESPONDENT ' S RESPONSIBILITY <br /> Before submitting a bid proposal, each Respondent shall make all investigations and examinations <br /> necessary to learn the conditions and requirements that may influence the performance of the services <br /> requested and the contract .
