1 . The provisions of Section 489 . 117 , Florida Statutes , are suspended to the extent <br /> that local jurisdictions are authorized to issue local specialty licenses , without <br /> additional local ordinances , for the repair and installation of roofs made of wood <br /> shakes , or asphalt or fiberglass shingles . <br /> 2 . All applicants for these specialty roofing licenses shall provide : (A ) an affidavit of <br /> competency from their original jurisdiction ; ( B ) proof of compliance with applicable <br /> workers ' compensation as required by Chapter 440 , Florida Statutes ; and ( C ) public <br /> liability and property damage insurance as required by Section 489 . 115 ( 5 ) (a ) , <br /> Florida Statutes , to the Indian River County Building Department . <br /> 3 . All specialty roofing licenses issued by Indian River County pursuant to this <br /> Emergency Order shall be subject to a minimum processing fee of One Hundred <br /> Dollars ($ 100 . 00 ) , payable in cash or by credit card . <br /> 4 . All specialty roofing licenses issued by Indian River County pursuant to this <br /> Emergency Order shall last for a period of 90 days , provided , however, that all jobs <br /> issued permits during the 90 day period shall be allowed to be completed . <br /> FURTHER „ this Emergency Order declares that solely from the period <br /> commencing October 5 , 2004 and ending no later than 5 . 00 pm on May 9 , 2005 , and <br /> applicable throughout Indian River County's iurisdiction , Indian River County <br /> adopts EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 04 =197 , as extended by EXECUTIVE ORDER <br /> NUMBER 04 =241 , as follows : the provisions of Section 489 113 (3 ) , Florida Statutes , <br /> are suspended in all Counties in the State of Florida to the extent that a certified , or <br /> registered , general , building , or residential contractor is not required to subcontract <br /> roofing work for the repair and installation of roofs made of wood shakes or asphalt <br /> or fiberglass shingles . <br /> THIS EMERGENCY ORDER shall be in effect throughout Indian River County's <br /> jurisdiction from October 5 , 2004 and shall expire no later than 5 : 00 pm on May 9 , 2005 <br /> Nevember 14 , , subject to the self-executing extension set forth herein , unless further <br /> extended by subsequent Emergency Order. <br /> DONE AND ORDERED this 12th day of November. 2004 . <br /> J eph A Baird <br /> I ian River County Administrator <br /> d Indian River County Emergency <br /> Services District Director <br /> * changes from original Emergency Order 2004- 10 indicated in the margin <br /> and in underlined italics for insertions and by strike -through for deletions <br /> 3 <br />
