, u .
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA
Department of General Services 03
Date : January 19, 2004 R F r. E I V E D
JAN Z 1 2004
To : The Chairman of Board of County Commissioners BOAR [) O r COUNTY
Thru : James E. Chandler, County Administrator COMMISSION
From *
Thomas W. Frame, General Services Director ' -d
Subject: Indian River County Citrus Best Management Practices Contract
Attached, please find twelve ( 12) contracts signed by various cooperators participating in the
Citrus Best Management grant program. These are 12 of the 21 that were submitted and
approved by the Board of County Commissioners on November 18, 2003 .
All match amounts and cost share amounts are the same as was presented to the Board on
November 18 with the exception of Custom Herbicide Applicators, Inc . Instead of receiving
601/o back as their cost share they will only get 29 . 24% back. That amounts to $24, 370 instead
of $49, 999. The reason for the reduced amount was that the total of 60% exceeded the total
available funds at $250, 000. Initially, staff thought there would be some additional funding
available from funds that could be rolled forward from the first allocation of $250,000. As it
turned out, those funds could not be rolled forward limiting to a total of $250, 000 available for
cost sharing. Custom Herbicide Applicators, Inc . is agreeable and has executed their agreement
and the Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors agreed to the modified
amount on December 8 , 2003 .
I have reviewed the contract amounts and found the amount to be included in the attached
contracts to be as approved by the Board with the one exception where the funds to be received
by the grant recipient will only be 29 . 24% instead of 60% .
