BYLAWS <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY HEALTHY START COALITION,_ INC. <br /> (Revised 02-27-97) <br /> (Revised for effective date 7/ 1 /01 ) <br /> ARTICLE I : MISSION <br /> SECTION 1 . NAME AND LOCATION : The name of the Corporation shall be <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY HEALTHY START COALITION, INC . (hereinafter <br /> "COALITION") . The COALITION is a 501 (c) not for profit corporation. <br /> (a) The main office of the Corporation shall be in Indian River County. <br /> (b) The fiscal year of the Corporation shall begin on the first day of July of each <br /> year. <br /> (c) The Seal of the Corporation shall bear the name of the Corporation, the word <br /> FLORIDA, the words CORPORATION NOT FOR PROFIT and the year of <br /> incorporation. <br /> SECTION 2. PURPOSE : The intent of the COALITION is to establish a system that <br /> attempts to guarantee that : ( 1 ) all women have access to prenatal care; and (2) all infants <br /> have access to services that promote normal growth and development. <br /> SECTION 3 . GOALS : The COALITION shall attempt to meet the following goals : <br /> A. To assure that the existing economic, social and geographic barriers to maternal <br /> and child health, including prenatal and infant care, in Indian River County are <br /> minimized, and that an adequate number of health care providers are available to <br /> assist pregnant women and their children. <br /> B . To promote and protect the health and well-being of all pregnant women and their <br /> children in Indian River County through the provision and accessibility of health <br /> care programs to fully meet the health requirements of this population. <br /> C . To establish a partnership between the private and public sector, federal, state and <br /> local government, community alliances and maternal and child health care <br /> providers to provide coordinated community-based care for pregnant women and <br /> infants, to reduce adverse maternal or infant outcomes in Indian River County. <br /> SECTION 4 . RESPONSIBILITIES In carrying out the intent of the COALITION, <br /> the COALITION shall be responsible for developing a maternal and infant health plan to <br /> try and meet the purpose and goals stated in Sections 2 and 3 of this Article. Such plans <br /> should attempt to include the following : <br />
