<br /> It is the policy and practice of this Coalition to provide equal employment opportunities without
<br /> regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, or any other
<br /> legally protected status to all employees of Coalition. This policy relates to all phases of
<br /> employment including, but not limited to, recruitment, placement, promotion, demotion, transfer,
<br /> termination, rates of pay or other forms of compensation, selection for training, conditions of
<br /> employment, performance appraisals, discipline/counseling, and participation in Coalition
<br /> activities . All employees are expected to understand and fully comply with this policy.
<br /> Employees who observe discrimination or feel they have been discriminated against have an
<br /> obligation to immediately report such concerns to the Executive Director or any corporate
<br /> officer. Employees who observe, hear, or feel that a client has been discriminated against have an
<br /> obligation to report such concerns to the Executive Director or any corporate officer. In
<br /> addition, the Coalition prohibits retaliation against any employee who raises a concern of
<br /> discrimination or who participates in such an investigation. Any employee who violates this
<br /> policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
<br /> SEXUAL AND OTHER FORMS OF IMPERMISSIBLE HARASSMENT
<br /> Purpose .
<br /> It is the policy of Coalition to maintain a work environment (including work-related activities
<br /> such as business trips, trade shows, and Coalition related social events) that is free from all forms
<br /> of harassment or intimidation whether from Coalition employees or third parties such as vendors ,
<br /> customers, clients, contractors, distributors, guests, or other individuals .
<br /> Scope .
<br /> This policy covers all Coalition employees . The Coalition prohibits any form of harassment; that
<br /> is, verbal or physical conduct that downgrades, demeans, degrades, mocks, or shows hostility or
<br /> aversion toward an individual because of his or her race, color, religion, sex, filing of a valid
<br /> workers ' compensation claim or attempt to file such a claim, national origin, age, disability, or
<br /> any other legally protected status or that of his or her relatives, friends, employees, or other third
<br /> parties such as guests, customers, clients, contractors, vendors, and distributors .
<br /> Guidelines .
<br /> 1 . Such conduct is prohibited if it :
<br /> • Has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working
<br /> environment;
