ii <br />The Chairman presented a complaint of Bernard M. Shotkin, re- <br />questing that the assessment on his lots in the City of Fellsmere be re- <br />duced. The Board then check the roll and compared with other properties <br />of equal status and found the valuation to be in line. No action was taken <br />at .this time. <br />The Chairman read a Petition of General Development Corporation <br />with regard to the assessment of all of their properties in Indian River <br />County. The Tax Assessor stated representatives of their Corporation had <br />been in to see him and he felt sure they were satisfied with the assessments. <br />The County Attorney was requested to call their attorney, advise them of <br />their right to appear at the next meeting or asked them to rescind the <br />petition. <br />The Chairman presented the complaint of Mrs. Ella Joe Stolberg <br />Wilcox. The Board considered property of equal value and found that her <br />assessment was in line and requested the County Attorney to write to Mrs. <br />Wilcox and advise her that her complaint had been reviewed and found to be <br />in line with other properties and that her complaint is denied. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seanded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried, that the assessment has been investigated <br />and found to be equal in value and that the complaint of Mrs..Wilcox is <br />denied. <br />Mr. Winner_. appeared before the Board and stated that he thought <br />his assessment in Ambersar4d Beach Subdivision was too high for the reason <br />that a considerable amount of the property was public right-of-way and he <br />is paying tax on property that he did not own. His assessment,was checked and <br />compared with other properties and found to be in line. He was also informed <br />_-that the Board could not.do anything about -the right-of-way problem at this <br />equalization meeting, but would consider it when they met as'the Board of <br />Crninty Commissioners, whereupon Motion was made by -Commissioner Waddell, <br />seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried;'that this Board <br />has €dand Mr. -Winner's property to be equal with other lots in the area apd <br />that his petition be denied. <br />y <br />
