LUCIE, FLORIDA 34986
(772) 924-3575 OFFICE - (772) 924-3580 FAx
March 8, 2007
Revised March 14, 2007
Indian River County Engineering Department
Attention: Chris Kafer, P.E.
1840 2511 Street
Vero Beach, Florida 32960
Re: Proposal for Geotechnical Exploration
Indian River County Parks Maintenance Complex, IRC Project No, 0701
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Per our discussions and correspondence with Sean McGuire, P. E. of Carter Associates, Inc.,
A. M. Engineering and Testing, Inc. is pleased to submit this proposal for performing a
geotechnical exploration for the referenced project. We understand that the project comprises
several buildings, associated pavement, and a stormwater management area.
The test borings would be performed at the locations shown on the site plan prepared by Carter
Associates, Inc. Our report will include the results of our field exploration, recommendations for
building foundation design, pavement considerations, and a recommended site preparation
procedure. Recommendations will also be made for utilizing materials to be excavated from the
site and the stormwater area for site fill.
For stormwater management planning, our report will include information from outside sources,
and the soil profiles at the boring locations. The report will also include the existing water table
and our estimate of the average wet season water table level.
We understand the site is generally accessible to our truck-mounted drilling equipment. Our
proposal assumes that the site is free of all underground utility lines and obstructions. If there are
underground utilities near the boring locations, we should be notified prior to our field work to
take the necessary precautions .
The proposed exploration program and the prices for our services are outlined below. The prices
are based on our continuing services contract with Indian River County Public Works.
Mobilization, etc.
Mobilization/demobilization, 1 Each @ Lump Sum $ 150
Boring Layout, Crew Time for 2 Technicians @ $45/hr, each
3 Hours @ $90/hr. 270
