! p,i <br />DGUX S PAGE gU <br />The County Engineer presented a plat for Julian Lowenstein of <br />Vero Beach Shores Unit No. 1. After considering the same, Motion was <br />made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />unanimously carried, that tentative approval of Vero Beach Shores Unit <br />No. 1 be made. <br />A Notice of Regional Council meeting on November 27, 1962, in <br />Daytona, was received by the Board and Motion was made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, <br />that Commissioner Waddell and Ed Schmucker be authorized to make this <br />trip. <br />Ed Schmucker also presented a survey he had made on the request <br />of Gifford citizens for a street from South Gifford Road to North Gifford <br />Road. After considering the same, it did not seem feasible to extend the <br />street the entire length, but was suggested that Mr. Schmucker makea <br />further study for opening a portion of a street to connect with streets <br />already existing in the area and perhaps this would solve part of the <br />problem. <br />The County Attorney was requested to prepare a Resolution for <br />the purchase of land from Mr. E. M. Hemanes for a county marl pit. <br />Mr. Troy E. Moody, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board to <br />hear the final outcome of his request to purchase a bookkeeping machine. <br />After hearing further discussion as to ways and means of financing <br />same, Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, that Troy and Homer be authorized to <br />advertise for bid for the machine. <br />The County Engineer reported that he had sent out questionaires <br />to the various franchise holders and had received from'Curtis Hunter a <br />statement that he was no longer in the business and that all his equip <br />went had been sold. Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded <br />by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, that the minutes show <br />the Board accepts voluntary surrender of the franchise of Mr. Curtis,. <br />Hunter, dated,March 21, 1961._ <br />
