1.3 GENERAL <br />A. Do not begin any other construction work until the pollution control and <br />treatment system has been constructed in accordance with approved plans and <br />approved for use by the OWNER and applicable permitting authorities. <br />Be From time to time, the OWNER or ENGINEER will inspect the pollution control <br />and treatment system and may take effluent samples for analysis by a testing <br />laboratory selected and paid for by the OWNER. If at anytime, the OWNER or <br />ENGINEER determines that the pollution control and treatment system is not in <br />compliance with the approved system, the OWNER or ENGINEER will shut the <br />portion of the project down that is not in compliance, and it shall remain shut- <br />down until the pollution control and treatment system is properly constructed or <br />repaired, and complies with the approved pollution control and treatment <br />system plans and specifications. <br />C. Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br />construction site. Implement erosion control measures on disturbed areas as <br />soon as practicable in portions of the site where construction activities have <br />temporarily or permanently ceased, but in no case more than 7 days after the <br />construction activity in that portion of the site has temporarily or permanently <br />ceased. <br />D. Inspect each pollution control system at least once per day. Clean and <br />maintain each pollution control system as required by its manufacturer or the <br />OWNER, until the system is no longer needed. If a water quality violation <br />occurs, immediately cease all work contributing to the water quality violation and <br />correct the problem. <br />E. Discharge shall not violate State or local water quality standards in the receiving <br />waters, nor cause injury to the public health or to public or private property, nor <br />to the Work completed or in progress. The receiving point for water from <br />construction operations shall be approved by the applicable regulatory agency <br />and the ENGINEER. <br />F. Promptly repair all damage at no cost to the OWNER. <br />1A SUBMITTALS <br />A.
