1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />179 <br />TU Y, AUGUW 7th 1928, <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, august 7th 19289 at 10 08clock <br />A.M, with the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman; <br />Geo. A. Braddock; J. W. LaBruce; J.J.P.Bamilton and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present were <br />Miles Warren, Clerk and J. H. Sutherland, Sheriff, <br />The Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved: <br />Mrs ti bil G. Hearne, acting for and in the place of the regular County Nurse. <br />appeared before the Board regarding indigent and needy persons. It was .ordered that <br />bills incurred as presented at this time be paid. <br />It was ordered that the application of Henry Uelch, negro, of Wabasso be approved <br />to enter the State School for Deaf and Blind at St. Augustine. <br />Geo. T. Badger, President of Sebastian Inlet Improvement Association appeared <br />before the Board requesting donation from County for repairs to Sebastian Inlet. It was <br />ordered that matter be taken under advisement and advice be obtained from the County <br />Attorney on this subject, <br />W. E. Evans, County Agent, appeared before the Board respecting County exhibit <br />-at-'South Florida Fair, Tampa, next February. It was agreed that an exhibit xaz will <br />in - <br />be placed at the Fair at that time. - <br />Deputy `Sheriff bond of E.:D.McLaughlin, in the sum. of $1,000.00 with L.E.Davis <br />and H.S.Knight, as sureties was approved. <br />gray. <br />It was ordered that G-7 Road be graded one quarter mile East of the Dixie High - <br />It was ordered that bridge on road B-10 at Clemmon Avenue be built by the County <br />Engineer. <br />It was ordered that Bridge across road B-8 and Clennon Ave., be built by the <br />County. <br />The following Road petition was reeeived, read and filed: <br />ROAD PETITION. <br />STATM OF FLORII A <br />COUNTY OF INDIA RIVB R) <br />To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of said County. <br />GMITTLMON: - <br />We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of Florida, <br />respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require, a County Road to be <br />laid out as follows, to -wit: Commencing at a point in the Dixie Highway 480 ft.southerly <br />from the North line of the South-west 1/4 of the --South-west 1/4 Section 19, Township 33 <br />South, Range 40 East; thence North 82 degrees East 397 ft;. to the Vest right-of-way <br />line of State Road No. 4, Project 691. Said road right-of-way to be not less than 50 <br />feet in width. <br />We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a <br />County Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said road <br />is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar .to us each and <br />severally in hand paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of Mich is <br />hereby acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lends, as shown <br />by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims .for damages by <br />reason thereof. <br />It was ordered that D.1.1eisher, O.O.Helseth and Dewey Reams, be appointed a <br />Committee to view,. mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. <br />
