Mr. Needham.of Moreland Estates Subdivision was recognized by the <br />Chair and stated that he had come to the Board to complain•about the serious <br />condition of St>uth Twentieth Avenue. The County Engineer advised him that it <br />was already in,his plans for improvement within the next two years. <br />The Chairman made a statement to the gress that.he had been advised <br />by the State Road -Department that they expect to let the contract for AlA <br />in March if everything goes as planned. <br />A letter from the Taxpayers Association of Indian River County was <br />presented to the Board requesting information as to meeting dates of the <br />Commissioners and the agenda. The Secretary was requested to reply. <br />A complaint with regard to Andy's Sanitation Service was received <br />and after some discussion, the County Engineer was requested to check into <br />the situation. <br />request from General Sterling Wood to advertise for public sale <br />of surplus equipment of Civil Defense was received and the same was granted, <br />the sale to be advertised for February 6, 1963. <br />The County Z"ttorney stated that the Federal Court suit against the <br />County had been dismissed and the County was no longer involved. <br />Sam Joyce, Sheriff, appeared before the Board and stated that he had <br />been requested to ask the Board to set a speed limit on Bay street in Rose- <br />land. after some discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, <br />seconded by Commissioner McCullers•and unanimously carried, that the speed <br />limit be set At 35 miles per hour on Bay Street from U. S. 1 to the railroad. <br />The County, engineer stated that Ed Carter had offered to give right- <br />of-way from his property for the, 'West lvabasso road which would, eliminate, <br />the utilities problem and save the county considerable money. <br />The Chairman read a notice inviting bids on lawn care of the Court- <br />house. There being no bids received, the County Engineer was requested to <br />see if one of the employees of the Road and Bridge Department would be in- <br />terested in the extra work. <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unaminously carried, Notary Public Bond for Mabel 0.
