C. All motors shall be fitted with a permanent, non-corrosive nameplate indelibly stamped or <br /> engraved with NEMA Standard motor data, including bearing description and lubrication <br /> instructions. Insulation class, ambient temperature, altitude rating, and power factor at full load, <br /> if applicable , shall be included . <br /> 2 .04 MANUFACTURER <br /> A. The driven equipment Supplier shall have responsibility to select and supply suitable electric <br /> motors for the equipment _ The choice of motor manufacturer shall be subject to review by the <br /> Engineer . Such review will consider future availability of replacement parts and compatibility <br /> with other equipment. <br /> B . Suppliers , or equal : <br /> 1 . General Electric <br /> 2 , Siemens-Allis <br /> 3 . U . S . Motors <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3 .01 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Motor installation shall be performed in accordance with the motor manufacturer's written <br /> recommendations and the written requirements of the manufacturer of the driven equipment. <br /> Field installation of the unit shall include final alignment. <br /> B . Installation shall also include furnishing necessary oil and grease for initial operation and making <br /> final adjustments to place the equipment in operable condition. <br /> C. Electrical work involving connections, controls, switches, disconnects, and etc , shall be <br /> performed as provided in the applicable Sections of Division 16 . <br /> 3 .02 FIELD TESTS <br /> A. The Contractor shall megger each motor winding before energizing the motor, and, if insulation <br /> resistance is found to be low, shall notify the Engineer and shall not energize the motor. <br /> Satisfactory readings shall be as stated by the motor manufacturer. <br /> B . The Contractor shall check all motors for correct clearances and alignment and for correct <br /> lubrication, and shall lubricate if required in accordance with Manufacturer's instructions.
