<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in 
<br />Vero Beach, at 5:00 o'clock P. M. Wednesday, October 27, 19439 in special meeting with the 
<br />i 
<br />following members of the Board present: W. C. Graves., Jr., Chairman; Albert O. Helseth, S. E. 
<br />Glover, and Frank C. Vickers. ,Absent: G. E. Barkoskie. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell,,) 
<br />Attorney for the Board, Marcell A. Boudet, County Agent, Leila Gray, Deputy Clerk. li 
<br />It was announced that the meeting was called with respect to finding location and 
<br />suitable quarters for a labor camp proposed to be located in the +dounty. A committee of I 
<br />citizens engaged in working on the matter was present, including Messrs. W. S. Buckingham, A.W., 
<br />Young, C. G. Wilhoit, John M. Knight and others. Also present was Mr. A. W. Rohrbaoh, owner 
<br />of property at Gifford which was ander consideration by the committee. 
<br />Discussion was had on the matter and it was tentatively determined that the Rohrbachil 
<br />property would be suitable for the purpose provided that certain funds were obtained to place 
<br />q 
<br />the property in proper condition for the camp. Tentative understanding was reached but no 
<br />I 
<br />formal action was taken pending final action by the committee with respect to the matter. ii 
<br />I, Upon motion by Commissioner Helseth, seconded by Commissioner Glover and unanimously 
<br />adopted County Engineer E. E. Carter was designated and authorized, as the representative of i! 
<br />. II 
<br />the County, to do any and all acts and execute any and all documents necessary in effecting a 
<br />.i 
<br />settlement with the United States Navy for damage done by a Navy plane to the County Barn on 'I 
<br />I 
<br />October 23, 1943. 
<br />Upon motion by -Commissioner Helseth, seconded by Commissioner Glover and duly adopted 
<br />it was ordered that the County execute and deliver to the United States an easement along State, 
<br />Highway No. 40 in Indian River County for the purpose of the erection of a temporary telephone4 
<br />; 
<br />line aloe such highway ghway by the United States Coast Guard and.whieh easement is to be prepared 
<br />by the County Attorney. 
<br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board 
<br />adjourned.

<br />following members of the Board present: W. C. Graves, dr., Chairman; S. E. Glover, Frank C.

<br />Vickers and Albert O. Helseth. Absent: G. E. Barkoskie. Also present were Wm. W. Frick, 
<br />Sheriff, Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney for the Board, and Douglas Baker, Clerk. 
<br />The chairman announced this meeting was called for the purpose of receiving the Tax. 
<br />Rolls for the year 1943 on Real and Personal Property and also Intangible Tax Roll. 
<br />The County Assessor of Taxes, W. R. Duncan, appeared before the Board and presented 
<br />s 
<br />the tax rolls for the year 1943 on Real and Personal Property and also Intangible Tax Roll, 
<br />which were carefully examined and found correct and on motion made by Albert 0. Helseth,second- 
<br />ed by S. E. Glover, and carried, were approved, and the warrants to each of said rolls were 
<br />annexed thereto and is in words and figures following:
