RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 021 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br /> FLORIDA, REQUESTING LISTS OF CANDIDATES <br /> FOR FLORIDA COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE <br /> POSITIONS. <br /> WHEREAS, section 1004.37, Florida Statutes, effective January 7, <br /> 2003, provides for cooperation between counties and the University of <br /> Florida and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with respect to <br /> the Florida Cooperative Extension Service as administered through the <br /> University of Florida; and <br /> WHEREAS, section 1004.37(3), Florida Statutes (2002) sets forth a <br /> mechanism for boards of county commissioners to approve or disapprove <br /> of persons recommended for extension positions in the county; and <br /> WHEREAS, section 1004.37(3), Florida Statutes (2002) specifically <br /> provides that the governing body of a county may notify the extension <br /> service by resolution that it wants a list of three qualified candidates and <br /> thereupon the extension service shall, for each position, make its <br /> recommendation by submitting a list of not fewer than three qualified <br /> persons, or all qualified persons if three or fewer; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br /> County, desires to adopt a resolution to notify the Florida Cooperative <br /> Extension Service that it wants a list of three qualified candidates for each <br /> of the positions of Water Quality Agent in Indian River County and <br /> Agricultural Agent in Indian River County. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br /> that: <br /> 1 . The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County <br /> wants a list of three qualified candidates for each of the positions of Water <br /> Quality Agent in Indian River County and Agricultural Agent in Indian River <br />
