Tuesday;, June 30, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Special Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />June 30, 1987, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also <br />present were Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph <br />Baird, OMB Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. -- <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Utilities Director Pinto requested that an item be added to <br />the agenda for permission to hold a public hearing re an applica- <br />tion for a grant relating to septage and sludge treatment. He <br />explained the emergency nature of the request is that we have to <br />give 45 days notice of the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />addition of the above matters to today's agenda. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized <br />staff to advertise the public hearing required for <br />application for a grant re septage and sludge <br />treatment. <br />Commissioner Bird advised that he would like to make a <br />report on the status of the Howell -Chapman condemnation lawsuit. <br />JUN 30198 <br />7 BOOK <br />J <br />
