TIMMaj, Og2OBIRR 25th _1%5_20 <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida' met at <br />_ <br />the court House <br />._ a ... in Vero Beach, at 2:00 o'clock P.Y. pursuant to call of the Chairman, <br />�_._.__._._®.._..._ .. <br />with the following -members of..the Board present: Albert . Helseth, Chairman, J.DYongue«`. <br />J.W.LaBraee; J-.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker, Also present were Miles Warren,Clerk <br />And Clark R. Rice, Sheriff. <br />The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of consider- <br />Ing a settlement between the County and the Columbia Casualty Company, surety on the <br />official bond of Gordon R. Olmstead, former Tex Collector. <br />James -T. Voeelle, attorney for the Columbia Casualty Company appeared before the <br />Board regarding the claims against Gordon R Olmstead, former Tax Collector and his <br />official bond and made the following proposition, as final settlement on the -bond. <br />$6,000.00 in Rt Lucie County, Florida bonds <br />30400.00 in Special R & B Dist #1 bonds of this County <br />11,000000 in Cash. <br />After considerable discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Hamilton that settlemei <br />be made in accordance with the agreement made October 19th 1932, contingent upon Olm- <br />stead-assigning <br />lmstead assigning to the present Tax Collector amounts frozen in the Farmers Bank of Vero <br />Beach to thecredit of Gordon R Olmstead, as Tax Collector, together with the collatera <br />and that a receipt be given in full to said Gordon R Olmstead and his sureties. <br />The said motion was lost for want of a second. <br />It. was ordered that the Board adjourn until 2x00 o'clock P.Y.Thursday, October <br />27th. 1932. <br />The Board then adjourned until Thursday, October 27th.1932 at 2:00 o-'clock.P.Y. <br />ATTEST: _ Chairman <br />C 1 e r . <br />-�w����.ar �r����lA�rs�r�������rs1wr���,►��7A�4��,�r�.�po c►�e�����f r�.�.���►��T���A--��-����w►����►�w• <br />TEMIR Y 9; OCTOBER 27th 1932. . <br />The Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />in and for Indian River County, Florida, <br />met at <br />the Court House <br />in Vero Bench, Et 2:00 <br />o'clock P.Y.Thursday, October 27th 1932, <br />pursuan <br />to adjournment on Tuesday, October 25th 19329 with the following members of the Board <br />presents Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue; J. W. JaBBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and <br />Eli C. Walker. Also "present was biles Warren, Clerk. <br />Yr Dewey A. Knight, attorney for the Columbia Casualty Company, surety on the <br />official bond of former Tax Collector, Gordon R Olmstoad, appeared before the Board and <br />discussed the matter of ,& complete settlement between this Board and the said Company <br />as such surety. <br />Atter considerable discussion, It was moved by Commissioner Hamilton that s6ttlem <br />be made in accordance with agreement and understanding had on October 19th 1932, which <br />is as follo*ss "The Board having instructed their attorney to make formal demand on <br />Gordon R Olmstead and his surety for alleged shortage as shown by the State Auditor's <br />report, it was moved by Commissioner LaBruce that the proposition be accepted as made <br />by .Attorney Tomlinson and receipt be gigen cordon R Olmstead and his bondsmen for <br />$6,000.00 Bt' Lucie County, Florida, bonds and $99847.59 in cash being settlement of <br />amounts unaccounted for an shown;by 'State Auditor's report of October 2nd 1932, or the <br />date Yr Olmstead retired from -that office." 13uch action to be taken contingent upon <br />Yr. Olmsteada assigning to the "present Tag Collector amounts frozen in the Farmers Bank <br />of Vero Beach, to the credit of Gardon R Olmstead as Tax Collector, together with the <br />collateral, and that receipt be given in full to said Gordon R Olmstead and his sureties. <br />t <br />
