It was ordered that a warrant be drawn on the Courthouse fund payable to the Indian <br />River Citrus Bank -for the sum of $11.90 for State- and Federal Stamps to. be placed on Bill of <br />(Sale of Furniture and equiptment purchased from the Palm Beach Typewriter Company for the.Court- <br />house (This amount of $11.90 is paid by the Palm Beach Typewriter Company and not by the County) <br />Mr, F. C. Poppell, Ft, pierce, appeared before.tbe Board and requested the sum of <br />approximately $1200.00 be included in the budget of 1938-39 for the purpose of purchasing a <br />Statue to be placed on the Courthouse grounds. Mr. Poppell was advised that the Board would take <br />Ithe matter under -consideration. <br />The minutes of November 26th., <br />Nov. 27th., Dec. <br />4th., and December 7th., all in <br />the <br />year 1937, and January 4th,, January 7th, <br />January 21st., <br />and February lst all of the year <br />1938, <br />were read and approved. <br />It was moved by,Frank C. Vickers., Seconded by S. E. Glover and.carried that the min- <br />utes of the meetings of this Board held November 26th., November 27th., December 4th and Decem- <br />ber 7th all in the year 1937 having been approved by this Board at this Meeting and that Cbmmis- <br />signer E. P. Poole be authorized to sign the same as Chairman as evidencing thea pproval of <br />suchrminutes by this Board. <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, s howing receipts and d isbursments <br />of the various funds which having .b=een audited_ were.. found .._to -..be. correct. <br />The several bills and accounts against theCountyhaving been audited, were examined <br />and found correct were approved and warrants ordered issued. in. settlement of .same, such bills <br />and accounts being on file in theofficeof the..Clerk of the..Circuit.Cop t..The warrants issued <br />from the respective funds being listed in the supplementa.l,.minute book as _requ.ired. by the rules <br />and practice of the State Auditing Department, reference to said record and the..list so record- <br />ed being made a part of these minutes. <br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded andcarr , the meeting <br />adjourned. <br />Chairman <br />ATTEST <br />Clerk. <br />41 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .. - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />Tuesday April 5, 1938. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the <br />Courthouse in Vero Beach at 9:30 o'clock, A. M. Tuesday April 5,' 1938, with the following mem- <br />bers of the board present, E. P. Poole, Chairman; S. E. Glover; Frank C. Vickers; C. S. Michael <br />and Edwin A. Helseth also present were William Frick, Sheriff; Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney <br />and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />The minutes of Maroh.l, 1938 were read and approved. <br />Mr. Gus Kaus appeared before the board and presented a petition signed by himself and <br />nine other citizens and residents of Indian River County, said petition requesting that some- <br />thing be done about the hole made in the ground by the road crew when working on road adjacent <br />to property owned by Gus Kaus, G. A. Grice and W. J. Robinson as it is now the breeding place <br />for mosquitoes. It was ordered that Frank Knight, Road Superintendent, and Charles A. Mitchell, <br />Attorney, make an investigation with regard to the above request and report back to the board <br />I their findings . <br />It was suggested by C. S. Michael that a day for road and bridge inspection be -design- <br />ated, After considerable discussion it was decided by the board to set Thursday April 7, 1938 <br />as a day for inspecting roads and bridges in Indian diver County. <br />Notary Public bond for P.
