415 <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited were examined <br />and found to be correct, were approved and warrants ordered issued in the settlement of same. <br />Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The <br />Warrants so issued from the respective.funds being listed in the supplemental minute book as <br />provided by the rules of the State Auditor, referenoe to such record and the list so recorded <br />being made a part of these minutes. <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursementi <br />of the various funds which having been audited was found to be correct. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and oarried the Board then <br />adjourned. <br />ATT T: <br />•�---rte•-------------------------.�----------------------------------.----------------------- <br />TO3SDAY, AUGUST 6th., 1940, <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met -at the.Court house in <br />Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A. M. Tuesday, August 6th., 1940 in regular meeting with the fol- <br />lowing members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, S. N. -Glover, Frank C. Vickers and W.C. <br />Graves, #Tr. Absent. C. S. Michael. Also.present.were Wm, W. Frick, Sheriff; Chas. A. Mitchells <br />Attorney for the Board and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />In the absence of Chairman Michael, Albert 0. Helseth was selected to serve as <br />Chairman pro -tem. <br />It was ordered that Carrie Bell Blanton be removed from the Pauper's list as she <br />is now receiving State Aid for the blin4. <br />It was ordered Mrs. George Williams - be placed on the Pauper's List to, receive the <br />sum of $6.00 per month for the care of Ned Williams until the further orders of the Board. <br />It was ordered Mrs. Robert Washington be placed on the Pauperts List to receive the <br />sum of $6.00 per month for August, September and October, 1940. <br />It was ordered.Henry DeLong.,receive the sum of $6.00 in groceries each month until <br />the further orders of the Board. <br />On motion made by Commissioner Glover, seconded by Commissioner Vickers and <br />unanimously carried,it was ordered Chas. A. Mitchell be paid the sum of 000.00 for expenses <br />in connection with the suit St. Lucie County vs. Indian River County regarding certain tax <br />redemptions alleged to be due the plaintiff. $150.00 to be paid immediately and the remaining <br />$150.00 to be paid in January, 1941. <br />Hon. A. C. MacConnell, City Clerk,.representing Hon. Alex MaoWilliam, Mayor of the <br />City of Vero. Beach and Harry Damerow, City Engineer appeared before the Board and requested <br />the use of the County Drag Line to deepen the water next to shore at the City Dock and for the <br />purpose of building another City Dock to accomodate a sufficient number of boats requiring <br />dockage. On motion mad -6 by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Glover and carried, <br />the request was granted and.County Enginerr E. E. Carter was authorized to work with. Harry <br />Damerow, City Engineer in the work heretofore outlined. The consideration to be $4.00 per hour <br />with the understanding that the City and County balance their accounts in the usual manner. <br />Mr. J,. B. Tippin, President.of the.local Road and Gun Club and Mr. John L. Billings, <br />Chief Conservation Agent of the 4th Congressional District appeared before the Board with <br />regard to the removal of the rough fish from -Blue Cypress Lake. Mr. Billings outlined the <br />method of proceedure and stated that successful work had been done in Lake Trafford, Collier <br />County and if the Commissioners would give their oonsent as to Blue Cypress Lake the work <br />would be done under the supervision of a warden appointed by the Game and Fresh Water Fish <br />
