Baker, Clerk, was authorized and instructed to release the said performance bond. <br />A letter was received from Charles C. Jewett, City Manager of Vero Beach, <br />requesting the Board to grant an easement to an area 20' x 20' for a necessary lift station <br />In connection with a proposed new sewer system, to relieve a very bad sdwageadisposal problem <br />in Brae Burn Park Subdivision. After consideration in the matter, the Board instructed <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, to write a letter to Mr. Jewett advising that E. E. Carter, Road C <br />Bridge Superintendent had been instructed to contact Mr. Jewett in order that a location be <br />selected that would be acceptable to both parties and said location not to exceed 20' x 20'. <br />Also in connection with this matter a committee consisting of Commissioner U.arren, Attorney <br />Sherman N. Smith, Jr. and E. E. Carter, was appointed to contact Mr. Jewett with regard to <br />the foregoing proposal with the idea of working out a tie-in with the new propos.ed system for the <br />Sunshine Center School building. <br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />then adjourned until 9:00 o'clock A. M. Wednesday, October 13, 1954, with the following members present: W. C. <br />Graves, Jr., Chairman, Aubrey L. Waddell, J. J. P. Hamilton and H. C. Watts. Also present <br />were E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, and <br />Katherine Morrison, Deputy Clerk. <br />The following resolution was received from the Democratic Executive Committee <br />of Indian River County: <br />R KA0L. ILT-10A • <br />Be it hereby resolved by the members of the Indian River County Democratic <br />Committee at a special called meeting at two o'clock on Tuesday, October 12, 1954, Vero Beach, <br />Indian River County, Florida, for the purpose of selecting a democratic nominee for the office <br />of Sheriff of Indian River County, Florida. <br />Be it Resolved that the unanimous consent of the Committee for Democratic <br />Nominee for the office of sheriff of Indian River County shall be <br />S. D. Smith <br />Be it further resolved that copy of this Resolution be delivered personally <br />by the Secretary of the Indian River County democratic Committee to the Clerk of the Board <br />of County Commissioners as soon as possible and if said Clerk cannot be found, to any <br />Commissioner of Indian River County, Florida, informing them of the decision of the Democratic <br />Executive Committee and respectfully request that the Democratic nominee of Indian River <br />County, Florida, be duly placed on the ballot for election. <br />
